The Dark Knight Kicks Major Ass!

There's certainly nothing dark about Batman's first night at the box office.

"The Dark Knight" lit up cash registers during its midnight debut, stealing away with a record $18.5 million from 3,040 theatres, distributor Warner Bros. said Friday.

Holy crap!

That's just one viewing of the movie alone in the US only! I can bet my life that in less than 7 days this movie will make over a $100 million.

** UPDATE **

Batman has sent Spidey packing as king of Hollywood’s box-office superheroes.‘

The Dark Knight’ took in a record US$155.34 million in its first weekend, topping the previous best of $151.1 million for ‘Spider-Man 3’ in May 2007 and pacing Holly to its biggest weekend ever, according to studio estimates Sunday.wood

“We knew it would be big, but we never expected to dominate the marketplace like we did,” said Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros., which released ‘The Dark Knight.’ The movie should shoot past the $200 million mark by the end of the week, he said.

Indiana Jones and the Mystery of the Little Green Men?!

Okay Mr. Spielberg and Mr. Lucas -- what in the blue hell was that all about??

In case you haven't seen it yet, let me save you the $10 bucks and suggest you spend it on The Dark Knight or even Hancock -- the latest Indiana Jones movie is all about martians.

Come again?

You heard me...LITTLE GREEN MEN who crashed on earth ages ago and the ancient Mayans built the temples on top of their spaceship to conceal it from the outside world. Sounds familiar doesn't it? I remember seeing something vaguely similar in last year's summer hit spectacular TRANSFORMERS where the US Government built Hoover Dam around the mysterious All-Spark cube to shield it and NBE-1 (a.k.a. Megatron) from the outside world.

Wait a second! Oh my gosh! Nah...has to be coincidence! Or is it?

Anyways...if you really feed the need to see it on the big screen -- don't say I didn't warn you.

Last chance...

Psst! Wanna get an Elite Xbox360 for FREE? Read on...

I was browsing the net on Saturday night absolutely bored out of my skull watching some YouTube videos when I came across this link to some guy "advertising" how to get a free Elite Xbox 360.

So I checked it out. I watched his little video and it seemed legit enough. After all, its been featured on the newscasts in the US so it has to be a legit offer.

How does it work you ask? Its simple. You sign up for an account and after completing one simple "offer" to try a product and getting a set amount of people to sign up under your referral code, they send you a freakin' Elite 360!

Sounds too good to be true, but I checked out that website for an hour or more and it seems very legit. You'll have to remember that back in the age of the internet ad revenue boon I was the recipient of a nice Apple iBook laptop from a now defunct "social website" known as Thirsty.com -- all I did was post stories I found online from sports, news and entertainment and came in first for the points that month and they sent me a brand new laptop!

So while I am still skeptical, I want to see if this works! If you want to check it out, then sign up here and tell all your friends!

We Have To Go Back...

I came across this fan-made video earlier last night and now I can honestly say that I can't wait until January!!

Genesis...When In Rome...

Poetry in Motion...Literally!

Why So Serious?

THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS!

I cannot wait for this one. As a huge comic book fan, I am look forward to seeing how this latest installment of the Batman series plays out.

Knowing that Heath Ledger died just after the filming of "The Dark Knight" is kind of sad because from what I hear, Heath did an amazing job bringing the maniacal character known as "The Joker" forward into the present time.

Don't get me wrong. Jack Nicholson's version of the Joker was just as great...but in a different vein. Besides finding a job...this is the next thing I look forward to this summer!

Unemployed...and Slightly Depressed

Man...I thought it was going to be a fun summer but so far I've been suffering from a mild case of depression after having my first potential job interview. I knew that my pampered past style of employment was long gone the day I signed the pink slip at Loblaws but the reality of that situation came crashing down last week.

I went in for an interview with Costco Warehouses last Tuesday and had what seems to be a successful interview! Of course, that's where reality came crashing down. The job is for an afternoon baker with definite weekend commitments.

Ew...

I'm sort of okay with the nature of afternoon work as long as it doesn't conflict with the more important things in my life like previous commitments and what not but what really gets me worried is the fact that I will have to work Sundays now if I choose to take the job for the first time in my life. I never worked the weekends at all in my previous employment. I was a strict Monday to Friday kind of guy.

The best thing is that they know I cannot work past noon on Sundays due to previously arranged commitments but I can't seem to wrap my head emotionally around the fact that my weekends are no longer mine to call my own.

What do I do?
